Students of the University of Washington are definately on the right track to preserving the Graffiti form. Their interesting approach on the form is worth giving a look.

Giant is a writer that has been doing his thing in the graff game for quite some time. Mastering in tattoos and canvas, Giant is no novice when it comes to damage.
His style has all of the trimmings of a true NYC graff native, but he is from Albuquerque, New Mexico.
It’s always worth visiting to see what he has been up to.

Remarks by Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg at a Public Hearing on Local Laws
“The next three bills before me are all meant to help fight graffiti. Introductory Number 299-A is sponsored by Council Members Monserrate, Vallone, Addabbo, Avella, Gentile, Gerson, Koppell, Martinez, Nelson, Rivera, Sears, Liu, Clarke, Gennaro, Weprin, McMahon, Jackson, Gonzalez, and The Public Advocate Betsy Gotbaum. This bill requires all property owners to keep their property free of graffiti.
It seems to always amaze me how a law like this gets passed. Look what politics can do…
This doesn’t sound real constitutional.
You won’t see them gawking on the sidewalks near Rockefeller Center, lining up outside Planet Hollywood, or taking carriage rides through Central Park. In fact, you won’t see these tourists at all — unless you frequent South Bronx subway yards or the dozens of other train-storage areas around the city where groups of spray-can-wielding foreigners (most of them, inexplicably, Germans) routinely come to make their mark. “New York is the Mecca of graffiti,” says Maurice Balt, 29, who made the pilgrimage from his hometown, Cologne, in 1995. “It is seen as a tribute to graffiti itself to write on a train in New York.”
We recently have found out that the Brooklyn Lyceum is looking for an outdoor exhibit for their windows.
San Francisco graffiti artists are denouncing a series of spray-can pieces of cuddly, bug-eyed kids that have appeared on walls around The City in recent months, in what city officials are calling a “war” between the artists and a major corporation.
